Infiniti Design Night: Combining Performance with Luxury

Infiniti LE Concept

Infiniti is dominating the design world, especially thanks to the recent Infiniti Design Night at the Shanghai Auto Show. This recent showcase of the latest in Infiniti styling previewed some of the innovations designers have been working on, such as the Q80 and Q60 exteriors and high-echelon interior styling.

According to Infiniti, the brand is aiming to make its vehicles have sharper bodies and more fluid designs. This unique design language centers on sleek contours and aerodynamics, as well as sophisticated interiors. The new Q80 and Q60 both feature an array of chrome, leather, and carbon fiber to showcase performance and luxury.

“Design is a key differentiating factor as we continue to shape the Infiniti brand,” said Roland Krueger, Infiniti President and CEO. “The concept cars foreshadow the design language that will make its way into production vehicles. Our passion for design will deliver a broad range of very distinct premium vehicles.”

If you’re looking for handcrafted artistry, premium materials, and muscular performance, the new line of Infiniti models is perfect for you. The new Infiniti Design Night was just a glimpse of what the automaker has to offer.

GM Trucks Top Cars.com’s Midsize Pickup Challenge

2015 Chevy Colorado

The results of Cars.com’s Midsize Pickup Challenge are in and they bode well for the trucks we sell at dealerships in the Joseph Auto Group.

Four pickups were evaluated in 21 tests over the course of six days, including the 2015 GMC Canyon, 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Z71, 2015 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X, and 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

They were tested for performance, seating and ergonomics, tech and entertainment, ride quality, visibility, value, off-road capability, braking and acceleration, fuel economy, and comfort.

According to Cars.com, the best truck was the GMC Canyon, which was also named Autoweek’s Best of the Best Truck for 2015.

Pickup Truck Editor Mark Williams explained that the Canyon “offered a capable and luxurious ride and feel that clearly separated the GMC from the rest of the pack.”

The Chevrolet Colorado Z71 wasn’t far behind, however, thanks to its smooth transmission and confidence when hauling heavy loads.

“What impressed us most with both of the GM trucks is how much they can carry, and how comfortable and confident they are doing it,” said Williams. “During brake testing and when carrying a max payload during our fuel-economy runs, brake control and chassis dynamics were smooth and predictable, comforting even.”

Distracted Driving Awareness Month Reminds Us to Keep Our Focus on the Road

Distracted driving

We are now well into April, which means its Distracted Driving Awareness month, a good reminder to keep our focus where it belongs: on the road. This month, we should all take time to assess our own driving habits, and work extra hard to ditch extra distractions while we are behind the wheel. It’s also important to spread the word, and encourage others to do the same.

First thing’s first. Distracted driving doesn’t just refer to cell phone use behind the wheel (although that is one of the most common and deadly distractions). Unfortunately, there is a variety of distractions that can be equally dangerous as using a cell phone. Here is a list of distractions you should avoid.

  • Putting on makeup or grooming.
  • Eating and drinking.
  • Adjusting your radio, GPS, or other in-car system.
  • Excessive conversations with passengers.
  • Reaching into the backseat or passengers side.
  • Cell phone use of any kind.

Not convinced? A whopping 3.328 U.S. drivers were killed in crashes involving distracted drivers in 2012, and another 421,000 were injured. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that more than nine people are killed every day in the U.S., and more than 1,153 are injured. Here at Joseph Auto, we hope we can work together to put a stop to these needless deaths and injuries, and make our roads a safer place.
